The Beatles are my #1 band and it is unlikely that they will ever be dethroned. As much as I love the group, there are some albums that are ‘so-so’. They are all worth an own, but some have far more hits than others.
Let’s take a quick look in chronological order.

With The Beatles
I like the cover and some of the songs, but this is more early Beatles stuff that is hit or miss for me.
Album Score: 50%
- Best Song on the Album: “It Won’t Be Long” ****
- Worst Song on the Album: “I Wanna Be Your Man” **
Beatles For Sale
We are finally getting to that sound that I enjoy. Although we get a few 2-star songs, they are heating up.
Album Score: 100%
- Best Song on the Album: “Eight Days a Week” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Everybody’s Trying to Be My Baby” **
A Hard Day’s Night
The Beatles are now in their early prime. Four-star songs are now very prevalent.
Album Score: 123.08%
- Best Song on the Album: “A Hard Day’s Night” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “I’ll Cry Instead” ***
Help!
As of writing, this album scored three 5-star songs. The 3-stars are going away as The Beatles are heating up.
Album Score: 285.71%
- Best Song on the Album: “The Night Before” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Dizzy Miss Lizzy” ***
Rubber Soul
This is the album we have all been waiting for. I consider Rubber Soul the album where The Beatles became “my” Beatles. Not a single song lower than 4-stars on this album.
Album Score: 400%
- Best Song on the Album: “In My Life” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Michelle” ****
Revolver
We are looking at some of the greatest songs on one of the greatest albums. I have five total 5-star songs on this album and nothing less than a 4-star.
Album Score: 600%
- Best Song on the Album: “Eleanor Rigby” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Love You To” ****
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
I love Sgt. Peppers. This is the first album I remember listening to on repeat (partially because it was the only CD my dad had of The Beatles).
Album Score: 500%
- Best Song on the Album: “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Within You Without You” ****
Magical Mystery Tour
I’m not sure if this album is considering cheating since it is a bunch of singles – but it’s very good nonetheless. 7 out of the 11 are 5-star songs.
Album Score: 800%
- Best Song on the Album: “Strawberry Fields Forever” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Blue Jay Way” ****
The Beatles
This double album has its highs and lows. “Revolution 9” appears and helps tank the overall number.
Album Score: 230%
- Best Song on the Album: “Happiness Is a Warm Gun” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Revolution 9” *
Yellow Submarine
If we don’t count the George Martin Orchestra songs, this is an okay album. The title song is a rerelease from Revolver. Most of the others are good but not great.
Album Score: 175%
- Best Song on the Album: “Yellow Submarine” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Pepperland Laid Waste” **
Abbey Road
This is the absolute best Beatles album. It may not be peppered with well-known classics, but the entire medley is everything I am about. They are all counted as separate tracks, but together could be the best piece of music – ever.
Album Score: 1000%
- Best Song on the Album: “Something” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Come Together” ****
Let It Be
This is a sleeper album and without a few of those 40-second tracks might score better than Peppers. I picture The Beatles on the roof-top, jamming out. That is a version of the band I really enjoy.
Album Score: 416.67%
- Best Song on the Album: “I’ve Got a Feeling” *****
- Worst Song on the Album: “Maggie Mae” ***
